The Department of Public Instruction, the Reference and Interlibrary Loan Team, is currently seeking a Librarian - Interlibrary Loan. The position is located at 2109 South Stoughton Road, Madison. This position is responsible for leadership in planning, promoting, coordinating, & evaluating statewide interlibrary loan activities for Wisconsin libraries. This includes drafting goals & policies; providing consultation and technical assistance to staff in libraries of all types; building productive relationships in the professional community and among existing and prospective resource sharing partners; playing a key role in promotional, marketing and training efforts to broaden awareness of the WISCAT resource sharing program; providing key input on procedures and creation of documentation; and serving on departmental and statewide committees. A criminal background check will be conducted prior to an offer of hire. 

Qualifications: 

Knowledge of interlibrary loan practices, policies, and procedures; interlibrary loan networks in Wisconsin and other states; public library system operations; the reference process and use of reference materials and general library materials; use of OCLC software and services; use of Auto-Graphics, Inc. Agenct software; use of the QuestionPoint virtual reference chat software; facilitation, coaching, and management techniques; effective working relationships with people; effective speaking and writing techniques; and planning processes. Ability to develop and deliver marketing messages. Skill in interlibrary loan procedures and processes; creating written instructions; helping library users over the telephone; verbal and written communication; and reference procedures and practices.
